Kafi's Wedding

Kafi and Bill were married summer 2009

Kafi came to me with a good idea of what she wanted in terms of colour and after looking at several styles I designed a low backed, wide shouldered dress with a full bell skirt.

It took some searching to find the right fabric. We knew we were after gold but this caramel cotton satin was a bit of a find and we knew it was exactly what we were looking for. I also made the groom's and groomsmen's ties from this fabric, adding a little more unity to the wedding party.

I also made the bridesmaids dress, a darker gold dress which echoed the brides in it's basic style without over shadowing it.

Suze's Wedding

Suze came to me two weeks before her wedding.

Suze and Dan had planned their wedding many months in advance, but only weeks after they had set the date, Suze discovered she was pregnant. Good news for the couple, but a real problem for the dress.

I already new Dan, and offered to help out. Suze had bought a dress, but it needed substantial alterations to fit her. We also added an organza bolero jacket, with a train, to transform a sleeveless dress into something she was more comfortable in. Two weeks of not eating and not sleeping later, the dress was finished and ready for the big day.

Half way through the alterations Dan requested ties and pocket handkerchiefs for him and all the groomsmen. Needless to say, I delivered.

Comments from Suze and Dan
"Rosie Dickinson is a genius! She saved our wedding and coped amazingly with last minute demands and alterations. Awesome."

Thanks guys :)

Alice's Wedding

Alice's was married in April, 2009.

Her wedding dress is a twin layered, grecian style silk dress in ivory and cream.

Alice came to me with the idea of a grecian style dress, that being a style that she particularly liked. She also wanted a dress that was unique to her, on her wedding day, without being a "massive meringue".

As you can see we included the detail of beaded angel's wings on the back of the dress. Alice wanted a small amount of beaded detail, and we decided to go with something a bit quirky, adding more personality to the dress.
